Antoni Niecikowski

Antoni Niecikowski, 83, of Manville, NJ, passed away on December 27, 2024. He was born on December 25, 1941, in Poland to Wladyslawa and Antoni Niecikowski. He studied in Lodz, Poland where he graduated from the University of Lodz. Antoni began his career in Poland as a teacher. His favorite interests were history, sports, and theater, but he taught his students Mathematics, Polish language arts, and physical education. After coming to the United States in 1964, he explored many careers. As manager of the Polish National Home in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for over nine years, he was very involved with the Polish community. He loved his Polish heritage and was president of the Polish Youth Association (Zwiazek Mlodziezy Polskiej) which was a cultural organization for immigrants in the United States. He was a trainer of volleyball with the local sports club, where he met his wife, Louise. They married in 1970. In 1988 he moved to Manville, NJ where he worked for Duke Farms Foundation until he retired in 2005. He enjoyed his retirement taking care of his family, grandchildren, fishing, and traveling. He was an active participant in Sacred Heart church in Manville, as a lecturer and fulfilled his passion for theater by directing and performing in shows highlighting Polish history and religion. God gave Antoni a special gift on the eve of his last Christmas. He had the chance to share the traditional Christmas wafer, Oplatek, with each family member and was able to tell them how much he loved each and everyone. He will certainly remain in their memory as a role model of an exemplary father, grandfather and true friend and he will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise, children Eva, Antoni and his wife Dagmara, Anna and her husband Jimmy, Adam and wife Teresa, 12 grandchildren, his sister Donna, her husband Jerzy, stepsister Bozena, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. The wake will be held at Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835, on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 4 to 8 PM. The funeral will be on Saturday, January 4, 2025 8:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Church), followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
