Arthur L. Carmon

Arthur L. Carmon, 88, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024, in Hillsborough. He was a lifelong resident of Manville before recently moving to Hillsborough. Art served in the US Army. Art then became a sheet metal worker at Lockheed Electronics for more than 30 years. Throughout his life, if you asked him what he wanted to do in retirement, he would say “I want to do nothing!” And he meant every word. Art and Millie’s love story is one to be admired. They were married 50 years and raised 5 children. Family life was filled with camping vacations, coaching baseball, holiday traditions and lots of birthday parties! Once retired, they traveled across the US and enjoyed their many casino trips win or lose. Art’s love of baseball was a big part of his life and his children’s lives. After coaching baseball in Manville for several years, he became a dedicated spectator at all his grandkids little league, high school, college and even adult league games. His daily 4 mile walks became a “time clock” for many. Based on where he was when you saw him, it let you know if you were early or late. He enjoyed waving at everyone who was beeping good morning to him. He was the family’s “quality control” during the annual pierogie making and Christmas Breakfast baking. Art was very handy and if you ever had a problem he came up with a solution … and it was probably made of metal! He cherished his family, friends and neighbors Chris and Ralph. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred Sandusky and sister Evelyn Bothers. He is survived by his five children David (Jodi) from Flemington , Ed (Jackie) from Montgomery, Janet Alcaide (Ray) from Flemington, Gary (Carol) from Media PA, Dan (Nitsa) from Flemington; one sister Arna (Dale) Localio from Hillsborough; two brother-in-laws Ray Sandusky (Ken Sabol) from Dunnellon FL and Tom (Lory) Sandusky from San Antonio TX. He has ten grandchildren Jeoff, Kristen, Leanne, Nicole, Jenna, Bryan, Ryan, Cory, Joshua & Micaela; six great grandchildren Haley, Dylan, Harper, Peyton, Reagan & Liam. He has step grandchildren Jessica (Joe), David, Jason & Christopher Gonzalez; Rebecca (Oz), Cristian and Alanna Daneshpour. The viewing will be Monday, May 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835. The Funeral will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 starting at 8:30 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM graveside service conducted by Father Stan from Christ The Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Church). The Graveside Service and burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
