Obituary for: Cecilia Kornacivich July 25,1926 – August 30, 2025 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Cecilia “Ceil” Kornacivich, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Cecilia passed peacefully at Morningside Assisted Living, Waldorf, MD, where she had made her home since December 2023. Her days at Morningside were filled with friendship, prayer, and the kind laughter that left an imprint on everyone she met. Born on July 25, 1926, in Bridgehampton, NY. Cecilia was the beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Knitowski. She grew up alongside of her siblings Joe, Ed, John, Jessie, Mary, Stella, and Clara. The family unit later moved to NJ. On May 25, 1947 Cecilia married the love of her life, John Kornacivich. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing 65 years of marriage and raising four children – Ronald (d. 2012), Christine, Thomas (d. 2013) and Mark. The couple resided in Manville and Southampton, NJ, where their home was always a warm and welcoming place for family and friends. Cecilia will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and her steadfast Catholic faith; which guided her through life’s Joys and challenges. She was known for her feisty personality, quick wit and the love she poured into her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband John and their sons Ronald and Thomas. Cecilia is survived by her daughter, Christine “Christie” Crawford and son-in-law Whit; her son Mark Kornacivich and daughter in-law Linda; and daughter-in-law Cheryl, wife of her late son Ronald. She leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Kristin Favara (husband Billy), Martin Crawford (wife Amira) and Hunter Kornacivich – as well as three great grandchildren: Rowan, Colette and Aaliyah, who brought her endless joy. Cecilia’s family will remember her strong spirit and will forever treasure her memory and celebrate the incredible love and legacy she leaves behind. The memorial visitation will be at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835, on Friday October 3, 2025 from 7:30am – 8:30am, followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ and the burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
