David J. Mroz

David J. Mroz, 79,passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. He was born in Somerville, NJ the son of the late Thomas and Pauline Mroz. Mr. Mroz was a resident of Hillsborough, NJ for the past 9 years. Prior to that he lived in Manville, NJ for 50 years. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Mroz worked for the Hillsborough Department of Public Works for many years before retiring. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Mroz was an active member of the Manville Fire Department Volunteer Fire Company #3 for the past 55 years. He was Fire Chief from 1980 to 1981 and from 2010 to 2014 where he served the Community of Manville with dedication. Mr. Mroz was also an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan. He was a member of Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville, NJ. He was predeceased by his parents and by a brother Paul Mroz. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Yolanda Mroz of Hillsborough, NJ, his two sons Edward Mroz and his wife Rachel of Wilmington, Delaware and Ronald Mroz of Manville, NJ, by his step daughter Nicole Yanicek and daughter-in-law Joanne Pressley of Manville, NJ and daughter-in-law Christine Sokolosky of Manville, NJ and by two brothers Thomas Mroz of Flemington, NJ and John Mroz and his wife Sharon of Manville, NJ. He is also survived by his two cherished granddaughters Katharine Yanicek and Sasha Yanicek. The viewing will be on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. The Funeral Service will take place during the viewing. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to: Manville Volunteer Fire Company #3, 169 North 8th Ave., Manville, NJ 08835. Due to COVID-19 Executive Orders in place by the Governor of New Jersey everyone must wear a mask and capacity is 50% at the Funeral Home. If you are feeling sick or have a temperature, please do not attend for the safety of the family and their guests.
