Doris F. Sutton

Doris Fae Sutton (nee Flore), 81, passed away Friday morning, February 17th at Foothill Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough, NJ. Doris was born on July 28, 1941, in Mahoning, Pennsylvania, to the late Harry and Helen Flore of Paxinos, PA. Doris was a resident of Manville, NJ, for 58 years before moving to Foothill Acres in 2018. Prior to moving to Manville, Doris grew up in Elysburg and Paxinos, PA, and graduated from Southern Area High School in 1959. Shortly after graduating, Doris met the love of her life, Bob Sutton, at the old roller skating rink in Knoebels Amusement Park, in Elysburg, PA. Doris and Bob married in 1960, and moved to Manville, NJ, where they settled and grew into a family, and enjoyed their community. A member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Doris was a loving and doting wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend; and will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Doris worked on the product production line at L’oreal in Piscataway, NJ, where she retired in 2004. She was an avid reader, loved country music, watching warm-hearted movies on the Lifetime and Hallmark Channels, and did many word search puzzles. Doris loved butterflies, Spring flowers, and the color purple. She had a knack for sending hand-decorated greeting cards to friends and loved ones, and always made sure everyone ate enough. She also kept her Pennsylvania hometown roots and family close to her heart. Doris’s beaming pride for her son, and loving grandchildren was always overflowing. They were the apples of her eye. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Sutton, and her sister Lorraine Sandel, of Danville, PA. She is survived by her son Robert D. Sutton and his wife Lauren, of Hillsborough, NJ, and her two cherished grandchildren, Adam and Riley Sutton; her brother Ken Flore and his wife Pat of Paxinos, PA; her sister Diane Flore of Paxinos, PA; and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 24th from 5pm to 8pm at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ; followed by a short service conducted by Pastor George Xenophontos of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial will take place the following day at Christ Church Cemetery in Fountain Springs, Pennsylvania.
