Elizabeth Musselman

Elizabeth Musselman, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday August 23 at Bridgeway Care Center. She was born in Seward PA, the daughter of the late Martin and Phoebe Janoscrat. She grew up on a farm in the Pittsburg, PA area with 13 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Indiana Teachers College in 1948 and taught in Allentown, PA from 1948-1952. It was during that time, she met her husband, Clarence G. Musselman Jr. who she married in 1952. They eventually moved to Manville, NJ where she was a teacher in the Manville Schools for 32 years from 1954 to 1986, when she retired. She was a long-time member of the NEA, NJEA, Somerset County Retired Teachers and the Manville Senior Citizens. She was a faithful Jeopardy fan, never missing an episode, and a diehard Mets fan. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother. She is predeceased by her husband Clarence Musselman Jr., a son, Rolf Musselman, four brothers, Andrew, Joseph, Stanley and Albert Janoscrat, and seven sisters, Mary Bache, Katherine Petras, Adella Brandt, Julia Janoscrat, Florence Hecker, Caroline Yaskovitch, and Phyllis Reagan. She is survived by her daughter Gretchen Alaburda and her husband Dave of Bangor PA, and son Clarence G. Musselman III and his wife Paula of Metuchen, NJ, and her two sisters, Martha Schaar and Agnes Janoscrat. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Cassandra Salkin and her husband Dan, Nicole Carruth and her husband Jody, David Alaburda and Craig Alaburda and his wife Morgan, Andrew and William Musselman, and six great-grandchildren, Kyle and Elizabeth Salkin, and Kaitlyn, Brenna and Max Carruth. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835. On Monday August 30, 2021 there will be a 9:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ, with burial to follow at New Cemetery in Somerville, NJ. All family and friends are invited to attend.
