Jean Day Lazicky

Jean Day Lazicky, age 89, of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Born on January 4, 1936, in New Brunswick, NJ, Jean was the daughter of the late Rita Ireland. She dedicated her life to caring for others, graduating from St. Peter's School of Nursing in 1957 and serving as a compassionate Registered Nurse until her retirement. Jean lived the majority of her life in East Millstone, NJ where she raised her family and was a lifetime member of the Millstone Valley Ladies Auxiliary and served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph’s Church in Hillsborough. Jean was devoted to her family and her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones and friends. She was a constant presence at all of her children’s and grandchildren’s many events through the years. She loved to read, watch “her shows”, and go to the casino. Her nature was one of deep kindness, forever dedicated to taking care of those around her. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Eugene "Puts" Lazicky, her mother, Rita Ireland, and her brothers, Bobby, Marty, Corky, and Bruce. Jean is survived by her loving family, including her children: son Greg Lazicky and his wife Barbara, son Dennis Lazicky and his wife Kelly, and daughter Laura Mechler and her husband Bob, and “adopted” daughter, Lily Jansky and her husband Michael. She also leaves behind a cherished legacy in her grandchildren: Amanda Lazicky, Matt Lazicky and his wife Claire, Ross Lazicky and his wife Kirsten, Kaitlyn Lazicky, Andrew Mechler and his fiancé Kelsea, Jenna Mechler, along with her “adopted” grandchildren Andrea Bruner and her husband Doug, Josh Jansky and his wife Ali, and their children Julia and Callie Jansky, and Wade Bruner. Funeral Services • Viewing: Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ketusky Funeral Home in Manville, NJ. • Funeral Mass: Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Hillsborough, NJ.
