John Zripko

John Zripko, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Manville, NJ the son of the late Peter and Anna Zripko. Mr. Zripko was born and raised in Manville, NJ living there for many years before moving to Whitehouse Station, NJ 48 years ago. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Zripko worked as an electrician specializing in robotics for the General Motors Corporation in Linden, NJ for 32 years before retiring in 1999. He was a man of family and faith, a loyal and dedicated hard worker, a strong leader, and one who loved the home and yard he shared with Virginia. Even fighting through his illness for many years John could be seen on any given day working in the yard or helping prepare and watering the garden for Virginia. John loved the outdoors and spending time with his family at the beach or fishing in the local reservoir. Mr. Zripko was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church in Manville, NJ for the past 85 years. His father was one of the founding members at the same Church. Mr. Zripko will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is predeceased by three brothers Peter Zripko, Nicholas Zripko and Vladimir Zripko and by two sisters Ann Riefenstahl and Mary Michaels. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Virginia (Ginny) A. Zripko of Whitehouse Station, NJ, by his two sons John Zripko II and his wife Tina, Gregory P. Zripko, and by his one daughter Cynthia Danziger and her husband John, all residing in Hunterdon County, NJ. He is also survived by seven grandchildren John, Erin, Laura, Leah, Sarah and her husband Michael, Alison and Ryan and by two great-grandchildren Reed and Cameron. The viewing will be on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 1 to 4 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. The Parastas Service will take place at 1:30 PM during the viewing. The Funeral will be on Monday, June 26, 2017 9:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Liturgy at Holy Ghost Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church in Manville, NJ. Burial will follow at Holy Ghost Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Hillsborogh, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center, in the name of his Surgeon and friend, Dr. John P. Hoffman. The link to donate to The John P.
