Joseph Jasontek

Joseph Jasontek, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday July 29, 2016 at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater, NJ with his loving family by his side. He was born in Whippany, NJ the son of the late Joseph and Mary Jasontek. Mr. Jasontek was a resident of Manville, NJ for the past 56 years. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. While serving his Country he received the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star and the United Nations Service Medal. Mr. Jasontek worked as a steamfitter for Local 475 in Warren, NJ for 45 years before retiring in 1993. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed. Mr. Jasontek was an active life member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post #2290 where he also served on the Honor Guard for over 20 years. He was also once the Grand Marshall of the Manville Memorial Day Parade. Mr. Jasontek was very involved in the Manville-Hillsborough Elks #2119 where he was Elk of the Year and also held various offices over the years. He also worked as the cook at Bingo at the Elks for many years. Mr. Jasontek was a member of the Holy Name Society at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Manville Senior Citizens Organization. He loved gardening, fishing and hunting. Mr. Jasontek was a member of Christ The King Roman Catholic Church (Christ The Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ. He is predeceased by 2 brothers Michael Jasontek and John Jasontek and by 2 sisters Rose Cresitello and Mary Mauro. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Joanna Jasontek of Manville, NJ, by his dear children, son, Joseph Jasontek and his wife Laura of Royersford, PA., his 2 daughters Diane Van Arsdale and her husband Scott of Mendham, NJ and Laura Regnault and her husband David of Bridgewater, NJ. He is also survived by his 3 cherished grandchildren Alicia Regnault, Julia Regnault and Jack Jasontek. The viewing will be on Tuesday August 2, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. The Funeral will be on Wednesday August 3, 2016 8:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, Manville, NJ.
