Maria Krawiec

Maria Krawiec (71) of South Bound Brook, New Jersey passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on December 10, 2023. Maria was born in Zurowa, Poland, January 14, 1952 to the late Antoni and Zofia Ziomek (neé Niemiec) and was an only child. She left Communist Poland at the young age of 19, on July 13, 1971, looking for a better life with more opportunities and came to live with family in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She met her husband, Adam Krawiec, and they married on April 28, 1973. They started their life together in Elizabeth, moved to Linden, then to upstate New York to raise their children and then followed them back to New Jersey when they went off to college. Maria was a self-made woman and throughout her life, she worked hard to make ends meet. She spent most of her years as a self-employed business owner and worked in retail (her favorite job working at Macys where she loved to shop). She never missed an opportunity to buy something special for her daughters, their spouses and her grandchildren. But her love of shopping found a match when her first granddaughter was born, and she retired from retail to help care for her growing family. Maria was a loving matriarch that held her family together. She loved cooking for her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, and hosting family dinners. She lived for them and loved to feed them her specialties, kotlety, pierogi & rosół. She was the absolute best mother and grandmother and her greatest characteristic was her gift of true, unconditional love. Maria leaves behind her husband of 50 years, her daughters Jolanta Teepe (Klaus) and Diane Litwinko (Mark), and her beloved grandchildren: Kristofer Litwinko (18), Annaliesa Teepe (16), Lukas Litwinko (16) & Mateusz Teepe (14). She will be greatly missed but her love, kindness, and generosity will never be forgotten. The visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835. The Funeral will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2023 8:30 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Mary’s of Czestochowa, 901 Vosseller Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ. Burial will follow after the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 899 E Lincoln Ave, Piscataway, NJ 08854. Memorial Donations may be made to the church, St. Mary’s of Czestochowa.
