Michael Patrick Mack

Michael Patrick Mack, 83 passed away Sunday February 27, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ surrounded by loving family members. He was a resident of Manville, NJ for the past 55 years. Born December 31, 1927 in Mahanoy Plane. PA., he was the son of the late Michael J. and Nora McConnon Mack. He was the widower of Roslyn Lambert Mack, his wife of 58 years who passed in January 2009. Mr. Mack served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Christ The King Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ. He was a master craftsman skilled in all trades. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed caring for and feeding the birds that visited his backyard. He was employed for 35 years as a Millwright at the Johns Manville Corporation in Manville, NJ and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. He retired in 1992 from Komline-Sanderson in Peapack, NJ. He was also a member of the Manville American Legion Post #304. He was preceded in death by Brothers Martin, Joseph and Francis Mack and by Sisters Irma Jones, Mary Davis and an infant sister at her birth. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his three sons Vincent Mack of Kingwood Twp., NJ, Brian Mack and his wife Pam of Manville, NJ, Joseph Mack and his wife Ellie of Raritan Twp., NJ, his nine daughters Michelle VanBuskirk and her husband Gary of Centreville, VA, Veronica Colacci of Manville, NJ, June Whitney and her husband Ken of Hillsborough, NJ, Christine Groza and her husband Gary of Manville, NJ, Dorothy Straszewski of South Bound Brook, NJ, Victoria Awtry and her husband Marc of Bound Brook, NJ, Bernadette Versfelt and her husband Walter of Bridgewater, NJ, Dawn Kavanaugh of Hillsborough, NJ and Nora Mack of Smyrna, TN., 27 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, his special niece Angel (Abel) Jimenez of Albuquerque, NM whom he helped raise early in life, numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. The viewing will be on Friday March 4, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The Funeral will be on Saturday March 5, 2011 8:15 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ.
