Rosina "Rose" Pluchino

Rosina Rose Pluchino, 87, of Manville, NJ entered peacefully into eternal rest on July 7, 2025. She was born on October 10, 1937 in Falerna, Provincia of Catanzaro, Calabria Italy, the daughter of the late Antonio Saporito and Beatrice Tomaino. Rose was a resident of Manville for 69 years. Rose left Italy to come to America in July 1956 and met her late husband Giovanni John Pluchino who she deeply loved and greatly missed. She was a homemaker most of her life, raising her children and her passion for cooking delicious Italian meals. She eventually ventured out of the house, learned how to drive a car, encouraged her late sister-in-law Rocca to join her to work at Kids R Us as clothing packers and eventually retired from Kids R Us. She enjoyed working and was a strong advocate for fairness for herself and coworkers. She is survived by her four children Sarina Urban and her husband James from Charlestown, Rhode Island, Beatrice Samol and her husband Pablo from Bridgewater, Rosemary Salerno and her husband Vincent from Middlesex, and son John Pluchino, Jr. from Manville, brother-in-law Carmelo Pluchino from Manville, sister-in-law Angela Pluchino Gennuso and husband Luigi from Loano, Italy and sister-in-law Giuseppa Pluchino Ganci and husband Salvatore from Palermo, Sicily. She has six grandchildren, Matthew, David, Ryan, Anthony, Brittany and Tyler. She has six great-grandchildren, Isabella, Luke, Abigail, Marina, Forest, and Santino and many nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Texas and Italy. She was predeceased by her step-sisters Concetta Trunzo and Saveria Saporito and step-brother Antonio Saporito. She was fondly loved and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Rose was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Church (Sacred Heart) in Manville. Rose’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, staff, nurses and aides of Robert Wood Johnson Somerset Hospital, Grace Hospice and Life Home for their compassionate care during her brief illness. The viewing will be on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835. The Funeral will be on Saturday, July 12, 2025 8:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
