Sadie "Sally" Kennedy

Sadie “Sally” Kennedy, 99, peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Hillsborough. Born in Raritan, NJ March 5, 1924 to the late Harry and Laura (nee Romano) Curcio, she grew up in Raritan, before settling in Manville, NJ with her first husband, Andrew “Andy” Walko. If you measure a life in longevity, Sally lived fully; if you measure it by love, Sally hit the jackpot. Her life was filled with children, family, friendships, pets; all the elements that fill life with special purpose and meaning. As a young girl, she loved to sing and tap dance, she looked after her younger sisters, and was a wonderful role model throughout her whole life. In adulthood, she worked at Servomation, and enjoyed time with her family and friends. A highlight at family parties were the 3-part harmonies she and her sisters sang. She loved spending time reading, crocheting, and playing Bingo and was a cheery personality on morning visits to her son’s auto repair shop. A devout Roman Catholic, she was a loyal parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Manville and a Past President of the Somerville, NJ Columbiettes. Sally is joined in Heaven by her first husband Andy Walko, Sr., who passed in 1970, second husband William “Bill” Kennedy, whom she married in 1976 and passed in 2010, brother Ralph Curcio, and sister Carolyn Curcio. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, son and daughter-in-law Andy and Diana Walko of Flemington, NJ, daughter and son-in-law Laura and Tony Marrone of Buckingham, PA, step-children Robert, Drew, and Connie Kennedy, adored grandchildren Jessica Feeney and Andrew Wayne Walko, and the apples of her eye, great-grandchildren Connor and Gavin Feeney, a devoted sister Annette Del Rocco, nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and countless friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation hours at Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ, on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 2 to 5 PM. Funeral services will begin on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 8 AM at the funeral home followed by a 9 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, 98 S 2nd Ave, Manville, NJ. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 1096 Millstone River Rd, Hillsborough, NJ.
