Thomas J. Trembly Sr.

Thomas J. Trembly Sr., 72, passed away on December 8, 2023 in Whiting, NJ. He passed with his wife and son at his side, who worked tirelessly to care for him throughout an especially hard fought battle with dementia. He was born on July 29, 1951 in Newark, NJ to the late Edward B. Trembly and Myrtle J. (Einhorn) Trembly. He attended Bridgewater-Raritan High School West and graduated from General Motors Training Center. Following numerous moves throughout New Jersey including Rahway, Bradley Gardens, Raritan, Cherryville, Bayville, Edison and Middlesex, in 1987 he moved to Bangor, PA. There he grew to appreciate the bucolic country setting in a house he had customized and found a place to settle down for the next 36 years. A self-taught individual with a talent for building and fixing things along with being handy with tools, over the years he held various jobs in the automotive, carpentry, building maintenance, hotel and home improvement fields. His interest in electronics and other subjects would also inspire his son Thomas Jr. – and passing down his diverse skillset immensely benefitted his son’s future career in broadcast engineering and technology. While self-employed, he came to do a painting job at a particular house in Manville, NJ. There is where he met his wife of 43 years, the former Audrey Vengen. He also became a doting pet parent and is survived by cats Oreo, Cookie, Elmer, Sneakers, Tiger, Mopsy, Lovey and Binky. (Departed but not forgotten pets over the years include dogs Prince and Jack, and cats Snowball, Midnight, Butterscotch, Frisky, Scamper, Christmas Cat, Petey, Mama, Wolfie, Tippy, Black Nose, Elsie and Nasty.) Survivors: Wife Audrey Trembly, son Thomas Trembly Jr., siblings Myrtle Trembly, Edward R. Trembly and sister-in-law JoAnne Trembly. Nieces and nephews Rita Pilla, Lisa Trembly, Edward E. Trembly, April Damski and William Damski. Brother-in-law August Vengen Jr. Predeceased by brother Harold Trembly and sister-in-law Helen Trembly, and brother-in-law Michael Vengen. Viewing is on Thursday, December 14th from 3 PM to 7 PM at Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. Cremation will be private.
