Victoria J. Peltack, 104, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Victoria J. Peltack, a beloved matriarch and cherished Mom and Nana, on January 20, 2025 at the age of 104. Victoria passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones. She lived a full and rich life, grounded in family, faith, and love. Victoria was born on January 17, 1921 in Mineville, New York to Anthony and Johanna Gibus. Victoria was one of nine children in a close-knit family. She moved to Manville, New Jersey as a young girl and resided there for almost 100 years. In 1948, she married the love of her life, Francis A. Peltack, and they spent 48 wonderful years together before his passing in 1994. Victoria was the loving mother of three children. She is survived by her two children, Mark and Marsha, and was predeceased by her newborn daughter, Frances, who passed away shortly after birth. Victoria was a proud grandmother to Meghan, Christopher, Thomas Jr. (TJ), and Daniel, and a loving great-grandmother to Jaxon and Nolan. Victoria’s dedication to her family knew no bounds, and she spent countless hours nurturing, guiding, and sharing her wisdom and fun stories with her grandchildren. Victoria had a natural gift for storytelling, captivating friends and family alike with her vivid memories and charming narratives. She was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary Fire Company #3 in Manville, where she dedicated many years to supporting her community. Her love for socializing was also reflected in the card club she shared with her dear friends, where laughter and camaraderie were always in abundance. A wonderful cook and homemaker, she took great pride in creating warm and welcoming spaces for her loved ones, always ensuring that her home was a place of comfort and joy. Victoria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis; her brothers, Stephen Gibus, Anthony Gibus, Joseph Gibus, Michael Gibus, and John Gibus; and her sisters, Helen Daum, Sophie Kosensky, and Marina (Mary) Jablonski. She is survived by her son, Mark Peltack (Donna); daughter, Marsha Hoppe (Thomas); granddaughter, Meghan Hoppe; grandsons, Christopher Peltack (Alyson), Thomas Hoppe, Jr. (Julia), and Daniel Peltack; and great-grandsons, Jaxon and Nolan Peltack, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. Her long life was a testament to her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. Her family was everything to her, and she will be missed beyond measure. The visitation will be on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835. The Funeral will be on Saturday, January 25, 2025 8:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Christ the Redeemer Parish ( Sacred Heart Church) in Manville, NJ. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
