William F. Kennedy

William F. Kennedy, 87 died Wednesday December 15, 2010 at home. He was born in Saratoga Springs, NY the son of the late William Sr. and Frances Kennedy. He was a resident of Yonkers, NY for 50 years before moving to Manville, NJ where he has been a resident for the past 35 years. Mr. Kennedy served his Country in the United States Air Force 8th Division as a Navigator during WWII. While serving his Country he also received a Purple Heart Medal. He was a Graduate of New York University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He worked as an Accountant for the National Starch and Chemical Corporation in Bridgewater, NJ for 30 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Manville Senior Citizens Organization and was their Treasurer for many years. He sang with the Yonkers Male Glee Club and the Somertones Barbershop Chorus for many years. He was a past member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post #2290 in Manville, NJ. Mr. Kennedy was an active member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ where he sang with the Church Choir and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. He was also an honorary life member of the Knights Of Columbus. He is predeceased by his first wife Eileen and by a brother Robert Park Kennedy. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Sally Kennedy of Manville, NJ, sons Robert Kennedy and wife Naomi of Cornwall, NY, and Andrew Kennedy of New Rochelle, NY, daughter Connie and husband Jacques of New Rochelle, NY, stepson Andrew Walko and wife Diana of Flemington, NJ, stepdaughter Laura Marrone and husband Tony of Philadelphia, Pa. and sister Elizabeth Mowen of Colorado. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Andrew, James, Jessica, Patricia, Robert and William. The viewing will be on Sunday December 19, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512.
