    Clara Barbara Yurek

    June 17, 1922 - July 2, 2014

    Clara Barbara Yurek, 92 years young, died in peace at her home on July 2, 2014 surrounded by her family. She lived a full and happy life spreading love and fun to all wherever she was. Born June 17, 1922, to Lucia Cocozzelli Longo and Nicholas Longo, in Manville, NJ, she was a women of strong faith in God, and member of Christ The King Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a life member of the Hillsborough Ladies Fire Auxiliary #2, former executive committee member of Chapter A of the Hillsborough Seniors, and a VFW member. Claire worked for RCA and Calco in her younger years, as well as being a legal secretary and newspaper reporter. At age 52, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse and worked over 2 decades in that profession. A true volunteer: Brownie, Girl and Boy Scout Leader, Election worker, Camp DeWitt counselor. Predeceased in death by her husband, William A. Yurek, and 4 sisters: Raffaela Ronca, Josephine Maddalena, Lucy Sulla, and Mary Seminara; & 2 brothers: Anthony Longo and James Longo. Survived by 3 children, Karen A. Kerwin (Tim), Mary Beth Yurek, and William Yurek (Annette),Grandchildren Tiffany, Stacy & Dylan Kerwin, and Natasha and Nikolai Yurek, along with many many nieces and nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, as well as 12 great-great nieces and nephews, and her sister, Genevieve Bohem. Claire traveled with Bill all over the world, including many trips to California and Virginia, and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. We will miss her forever. The viewing will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The Funeral will take place on Friday July 11, 2014 8:15 a.m. from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 a.m. Mass at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ.
