Frances Cherniak

March 6, 1932 - October 17, 2020

Frances Cherniak, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough, NJ. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey the daughter of the late Teofil and Hedwig Burchala. Mrs. Cherniak was a resident of Hillsborough, NJ for the past 57 years. She had worked as a clerk at LaFontaine & Budd Insurance Agency in Somerville, NJ for many years before retiring. Mrs. Cherniak loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Cherniak was a longtime member of the Hillsborough Senior Citizens Group and enjoyed going on trips with them especially to plays. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Millstone Borough, Hillsborough Township, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband George Cherniak in 2012. She is also predeceased by her three brothers Walter Burchala, Joseph Burchala and John Burchala and by her two sisters Helen Burchala and Estelle Nawrocki. She is survived by her three loving daughters Ellen Marks and her husband David of Lebanon, NJ, Linda Gada and her husband Richard of Bridgewater, NJ and Patricia Orazzi and her husband Nicholas of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her five cherished grandchildren Rachel, Ryan, Alyssa, Shaelyn and Evan and by her great-grandson Scott. The visitation will be on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ketusky Funeral Home in Manville, NJ. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home and will be conducted by Father Hank Hilton. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Millstone Borough, NJ.
