John L. Kornacivich, 88 passed away on Monday June 18, 2012 following a 5 year battle with Alzheimer's and complications, his wife of 65 years by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Taras and Victoria Kornacivich, his brother Julius Kornacivich and his eldest son Ronald Kornacivich. John was born on August 15, 1923 in Garfield, NJ. He was a resident of Manville, NJ for many years before moving to Southampton, NJ 11 years ago. John served his Country Honorably in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. He worked for the Ford Motor Company in Edison, NJ for 40 years before retiring in 1988. He was an active community minded resident of Manville, NJ and was a volunteer Manville Special Police Officer for many years. Following retirement, he also enjoyed his part time job delivering flowers for Fenn's Florist in Hillsborough, NJ. He was a lifetime member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post #2290 in Manville, NJ. John was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ. John was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. A helpful neighbor and friend. Mr. Kornacivich is survived by his wife of 65 years Cecelia Kornacivich (nee Knitowski) of Manville, NJ, daughter Christie Crawford and her husband Whit of Waldorf, Maryland, sons Thomas Kornacivich of Southampton, NJ, Mark Kornacivich and his wife Linda of Manville, NJ, his sister Mildred Bongiovonni of Atlantic City, NJ and his Daughter-In-Law Cheryl Kornacivich of South Brunswick, NJ. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Kristin Marple, Martin Crawford and Hunter Kornacivich. The viewing will take place on Thursday June 21, 2012 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The Funeral will take place immediately following the viewing with a Mass at 12 noon at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
