John J. Manna Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John J. Manna, 67 died suddenly on Saturday August 30, 2014 at St. Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He was born in Somerville, NJ the son of Martha and the late Joseph Manna. He was a resident of Somerset, NJ for the past 40 years. Mr. Manna served his Country Honorably in the United States Air Force with the Air National Guard from 1973 to 1999 and he officially retired on July 26, 1999 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Manna was the owner of M.C. Gomez Exporters in Bridgewater, NJ for the past 32 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Manna had a love for aviation. He volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), which is a non-profit organization and the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. Mr. Manna was also a member of the Blue Sky Aviation Association that flew out of Solberg airport in Whitehouse Station for many years. He volunteered with the Somerville Rescue Squad for 6 years from 1972 to 1978. Mr. Manna was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed. He was a member of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church in Somerset, NJ. He is predeceased by his father Joseph Manna. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Gail Manna of Somerset, NJ, his two dear sons Michael Manna and his wife Nicole of Scotch Plains, NJ and Daniel Manna and his girlfriend Mallory of Bernardsville, NJ, his mother Martha Manna and his two brothers Thomas Manna and his wife Jacqui of Somerville, NJ and Joseph Manna and his wife Lynda of Stockton, NJ. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter Paige Elizabeth Manna. The viewing will be on Wednesday September 3, 2014 from 6 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512.
