Salvatore Centino, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 10, 2016 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Hoboken, NJ the son of the late Salvatore and Lucia Centino. Mr. Centino was a resident of Manville, NJ for the past 66 years. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Marine Corps. during the Korean War. Mr. Centino worked as a boiler operator for the Johns Manville Corporation in Manville, NJ for 37 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Centino was a member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post 2290 as well as a life member of the American Legion Post #304 in Manville, NJ. He enjoyed history and fixing almost anything. Mr. Centino was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Raritan, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Lucy Centino in 2006 and by a brother Joseph Centino. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Scavuzzo of Manville, NJ, his son Salvatore Centino of Piscataway, NJ, a sister Catherine Monaco and her husband Frank of Secaucus, NJ and a brother Frank Centino and his wife Frances of Port Reading, NJ.. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren Salvatore Centino, Samuel James Centino and Rachael Yanvary and her husband Dave and by 2 great-grandchildren Adeline Elise and Isabella Grace Yanvary. The viewing will be on Sunday February 14, 2016 from 2 to 4 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The Funeral will be on Monday February 15, 2016 9:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Raritan, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum in Bridgewater, NJ.
