Seman "Sam" Macola died on Monday, December 24, 2018. He was born in Teresva, Ukraine in 1924. During WWII, he was in various refugee camps in Germany and immigrated to the United States(New York City) in 1949. He was a longtime resident of Middlesex Borough and in the fall of 2018, he moved to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to be cared for by family. For more than 28 years he was employed by Mack Trucks Inc. in Bridgewater, NJ and retired in 1986. He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ and St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Dunellen, NJ. Mr. Macola was a member of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and also a member of the United Auto Workers Union, Local 229. Mr Macola is survived by his beloved son Gregory, ( Longtime Partner: Mary McEnerney), two grandchildren (Samantha O'Neil/Spouse: Kieran O'Neil and Nicholas Macola, Spouse: Stephanie Macola), a great granddaughter (Kiera O'Neil), cousins in New Jersey and many relatives in the Ukraine. The visitation will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4 to 8 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. The Funeral will take place on Friday January 4, 2019 9:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Service at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ.
