Steve Lazorchak Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Steve Lazorchak, 85 , passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. He was born in Forest City, Pennsylvania the son of the late John and Susan Lazorchak. Mr. Lazorchak graduated from Forest City High School in Forest City, Pennsylvania. He was a resident of Hillsborough, NJ for the past 47 years. Mr. Lazorchak served his Country Honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956 and in the Air Force Reserves from 1956 to 1960 as a radio operator. While in the Air Force he received the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He retired in 1986 after working at the Johns-Manville Corporation in Manville, NJ for 36 years. Mr. Lazorchak was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was a member of the Johns-Manville Quarter Century Club and the Manville American Legion Post #304. Mr. Lazorchak was an avid reader. He also enjoyed watching all types of sports and especially tennis. He also enjoyed trips to the casinos. Mr. Lazorchak was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ. He is predeceased by his two sisters Susan Gula and Helen Tomaro and by his five brothers Paul, John, Peter, Michael and Nicholas Lazorchak. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Ann Lazorchak of Hillsborough, NJ and by his two daughters Linda Indyk and her husband John of Hamilton, NJ and Alison McMahon and her husband Tom of Howell, NJ. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Lauren (Indyk) Vaxmonsky and her husband Ryan, Christopher Indyk, Eric McMahon and Alexandra McMahon and by many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. The Parastas Service will be at 7 PM during the evening viewing. The Funeral will be on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 9:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Liturgy at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ.
