Vito J. Martinelli, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday January 2, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center at Somerset in Somerville, NJ with his loving family by his side. He was born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania the son of the late Giovanni and Antoinette Martinelli. Mr. Martinelli was a resident of Manville, NJ for the past 55 years. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. While serving in the Korean War he received the Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Service Stars, the OCC Medal, the CI Bad, ROK Press Unit Citation and 1 OS Service Bar. Mr. Martinelli was a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as Manager of Electrical Engineering for ITT in New York City, NY for many years before retiring. Mr. Martinelli was a life member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post #2290 in Manville, NJ and the American Legion Post #304 in Manville, NJ. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees fan. Mr. Martinelli was a member of Christ The King Roman Catholic Church (Christ The Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ. He was a loving husband, father and brother and was very loved by all who knew him. He is predeceased by two brothers Joseph Martinelli and Jimmy Martinelli and by a sister Marie Malowany. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Josephine Martinelli of Manville, NJ, his two dear daughters JoAnn Woler of Readington, NJ and Jean Onderko and her husband James of Readington, NJ, a brother John Martinelli of Scranton, Pennsylvania and by a sister Antoinette Lynch and her husband Walter of Moosic, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be on Monday January 5, 2015 from 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The Funeral will be on Tuesday January 6, 2015 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church (Christ The Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ.
