    Walter A. Bijaczyk

    September 15, 1918 - October 29, 2014

    Walter A. Bijaczyk, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 29, 2014 at Foothill Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough, NJ. He was born in Trenton, NJ the son of the late Andrew and Teresa Bijaczyk. Mr. Bijaczyk was a resident of Hillborough, NJ for the past 36 years. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Mr Bijaczyk worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator at the GSA Depot in Belle Mead, NJ. He then worked in the grounds maintenance department at the VA Lyons Facility for several years before retiring. Mr. Bijaczyk was a member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V. F. W. Post #2290 in Manville, NJ and the Manville Fire Department #1. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Lee over the many years. Mr. Bijaczyk was a member of Mary Mother of God Roman Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Lee Bijaczyk of Hillsborough, NJ, his daughter Linda Gudusky and her husband Tom of New Hope, Pennsylvania, his son Walter Andrew Bijaczyk and his wife Rachel of Manville, NJ, his two sisters Helen Bowers and her husband Jack of Hamilton, NJ and Mary Kierepka of Yardville, NJ. He is also survived by three grandchildren Kim Gudusky of Norfolk, Virginia, Bryan Gudusky and his wife Kristin of Dublin, Pennsylvania and Sarah Bijaczyk of Manville, NJ and by three great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Noelan and Ethan. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday November 11, 2014 from 10 to 11AM in the gathering area at Mary Mother of God Roman Catholic Church, 157 South Triangle Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM in the Church. Burial will be private. For additional information please visit our website at www.ketusky.com.
