Jennie Bartus

Jennie Bartus, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Raritan, NJ the daughter of the late Dominic and Concetta Lopreato. Mrs. Bartus was a resident of Manville, NJ for many years. She worked as a hand trimmer for the Johns-Manville Corporation in Manville, NJ for over thirty years and was a member of the Johns-Manville Quarter Century Club. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She especially loved to cook big Italian meals at Christmas time. Mrs. Bartus loved to travel, play bingo and go to the Somerset County Senior Center in Bridgewater, NJ. She also had a love for animals. Mrs. Bartus was a member of Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Bartus, a son, John Bartus, two sisters, Rose McKennon and Rose Koshinsky and by a brother Onifiro "Shorty" Lopreato. She is survived by her two daughters Joann "Cookie" Tomaro and her husband Michael of Phillipsburg, NJ, Jenniann Panerali and her husband Bob of Basking Ridge, NJ, and by her two sons Joe Bartus and his wife Vicky of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Jamie Bartus and his wife Denise of Wesley Chapel, Florida. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Anthony Tomaro, Michelle Balogh, Brittany Panerali, Courtney Panerali, Valerie Bruno, Ashley Greco, Jessica Faucett and Dana Bartus and by her ten great-grandchildren, Mia Tomaro, Lukey Balogh, Rosa Balogh, Gianna Bruno, Jameson Ocetnik, Ace Faucett, Layne Faucett, Penelope Greco, Lydia Greco and Victor Greco. The family would also like to thank the wonderful caregivers that took care of Jennie. They are Teresa, Candace, Michelle, Heliana and Manana. The viewing will be on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835. The Funeral will be on Monday, July 26, 2021 8:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church ( Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery Mausoleum in Bridgewater, NJ. Donations may be made in her memory to: Somerset Regional Animal Shelter, 100 Commons Way, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Everyone attending the viewing at the Funeral Home and the Mass at the Church are asked to please wear a mask at the request of the family.
