Joseph (Joe) R. Melusky

Joseph (Joe) R. Melusky, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Somerset in Somerville, NJ with his loving family by his side. He was born in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania the son of the late Joseph and Anna Melusky. Mr. Melusky was a resident of Manville, NJ for the past 65 years. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Navy. Mr. Melusky worked as a foreman machinist for the Johns-Manville Corporation in Manville, NJ for 35 plus years. He was also a member and past President of the Johns-Manville Quarter Century Club. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. . He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post #304 in Manville, NJ, the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post #2290 in Manville, NJ, the Manville-Hillsborough Elks #2119 in Hillsborough, NJ, the Bound Brook Moose Lodge 998 in Bound Brook, NJ and a longtime Board Member of the Manville Area Federal Credit Union. Mr. Melusky was an avid gardener. He also was a fan of Classic Westerns and enjoyed going to Polka Weekends in the Catskills with his wife for many years. Mr. Melusky was a New York Giants and Penn State football fan. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Anastasia Melusky in 2012. He is survived by his son Robert Melusky of Manville, NJ, his three daughters Patricia Kocay and her husband Jonathan of Bridgewater, NJ, Diane Carbaugh and her husband David of Biglerville, PA. and JoAnn Melusky and her fiancée Tom Wyckoff of Allentown, NJ and by his granddaughter Beth Rhatigan and her husband Rob. He is also survived by a niece Roseann Gawason and her husband Kevin and by two great nephews Jack and Travis. The viewing will be on Thursday June 29, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. The Funeral will be on Friday June 30, 2017 8:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
