Susan Molinia December 8,1952 - February 23, 2025 Susan Molinia, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on February 23, 2025 at the RWJ Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. For the last eight years, Susan called the Avalon at Hillsborough her home, where she truly thrived. She was deeply embedded in the community at the Avalon, where she made many lasting friendships. Her smile, laughter and positive energy will be greatly missed by the many friends who were fortunate to share in her life there. Susan was a free spirit and full of life. She faced challenges head on, overcoming hardships with remarkable strength and resilience. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1997, she never let the disease define her. Though it may have slowed her down at times, it never stopped her from embracing life to the fullest - until she simply could no longer. One of Susan's greatest joys in life was the time spent by the ocean with her husband, Tony. Their dream had always been to live down the shore, and in the early 2000s, they made that dream a reality. As she lovingly reflected in her journals, they cherished simple moments together - taking rides to the beach, sitting by the water and watching the the waves crash. But more than anything, they treasured just being with one another. Above all, Susan's greatest pride and joy was her beloved granddaughter, Natalie La Rue. She adored Natalie beyond words and cherished every moment spent with her. She was predeceased by her soulmate husband of 35 years, Tony Molinia; her father, Frank Rapp; her mother, Edie Rapp; and her younger siblings, Tim Rapp and Bethy Chapin. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa La Rue, and son-in-law, Bill La Rue; her adored granddaughter, Natalie La Rue; her son, Anthony Molinia, and his girlfriend, Liz Ervin; her sister, Wendy Rapp; her stepmother, Irene Rapp; her stepbrother, Tony Marchetti, and his wife, Delisa Marchetti; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Tuesday, March 4th from 4 pm to 6 pm at Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the National MS Society. Her spirit, kindness and love will live on in all who knew her.
