Vincent "Smiley" Nole

Vincent "Smiley" Nole, of Manville, NJ passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2022. Born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania on September 25, 1932 he resided in Duryea, Pennsylvania before moving to Manville, NJ. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was stationed in Japan from 1953 to 1955. He was awarded the National Defender Service Medal after his Honorable discharge from the Army. He was employed by the Chamblin Army Ammunition Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania until 1962 when he moved to Manville, NJ where he was employed by the Johns-Manville Corporation until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement he worked for Adessa of Manville for several years. Smiley was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ. He loved to dance to big band music, especially Glenn Miller. He was an avid walker, shopper and casino hopper, but most of all he enjoyed his Christmas shows in New York City with his family. "Pop" as everyone affectionately called him will be missed dearly by his family and townspeople who always stopped to give him a ride home. Vincent was predeceased by his loving parents Michael and Elsie (Pittock) Nole of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, his beloved wife Florence (Kresefski) Nole of Manville, NJ, sister Ethel Horrocks and husband William of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, brother Dominic Nole of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, sister Mary Woodbridge and husband Joseph of Dunmore, Pennsylvania and niece Valerie Patterson of Sacremento, California. He is survived by his daughter Linda Kent and husband Brian of Cranbury, NJ, his loving son Joseph Nole and fiancé Lori Jones of Manville, NJ, his granddaughter Melissa Chinich and husband Derek of Belle Mead, NJ, granddaughter Jessica Jones of Ewing, NJ, his devoted brother Thomas Nole and wife Jolan Lesnik of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, niece Cynthia Brown and husband Ken of Moscow, Pennsylvania, Nephew Thomas Nole, Jr. and wife Emma of Sacremento, California, niece Donna Woodbridge and husband Michael of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, nephew Michael and nieces Diane, Barbara and Mary Ellen of Buffalo, NY and great niece Chloe, great granddaughters Kira and Molly of Belle Mead. The viewing will be on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ 08835. The Funeral will be 8:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ. Services will conclude after the Mass.
