Our Story

Learn our story, from the beginning and into the future.

Ever since we opened our gates we have approached life (and death) differently. While some just see the end of a loved one’s life as a time for grief and mourning, we prefer to think of it as a time for reflection, appreciation and even celebration. This is evident in everything we do, from the way we conduct our services to the amenities we choose to offer. We are not a burial ground. We are a close knit community dedicated to honoring, sharing and preserving the amazing and inspirational stories that are life.

Why Us?

Experience, professionalism, compassion, and empathy.

Why Us?

We've learned a lot over many years. Like how to present options without overwhelming. And how to meet the needs of many caring parties. People come to us in difficult times, and we respond kindness, calmness and expertise. Our goal is to create a beautiful occasion and make you feel welcome, always. We spend our days planning with families. We stay up to date with industry developments. And we make hard times a little easier.

Learn the legacy.

The Ketusky Funeral Home was established in 1996 by its founders Joseph J. Ketusky, Jean Ketusky and their son Joseph Ketusky. It was built new from the ground up by the Ketusky Family to provide the Families we serve with the most modern and elegant facility in the area. The Ketusky Funeral Home is surrounded by beautiful gardens, landscaping and a koi pond to provide comfort and serenity. Being the largest and one of the newest facilities in Central New Jersey the Funeral Home was designed to be handicap accessible with all of its amenities being located on a single floor with no steps.

Though Joseph J. Ketusky passed away in 1999 and Jean Ketusky passed away in 2012 the Funeral Home carries on with their vision through their son Joseph Ketusky. The vision was that of providing the absolute best and most compassionate service to each and every Family we serve. We are here for our Families during the time of their loss and after.

The Ketusky Funeral Home provides every Funeral with a courtesy Funeral Escort Vehicle which assists in traffic control for the Funeral . This vehicle is equipped with purple vehicle safety lighting to identify the funeral procession. When we provide Funeral Services for a United States Veteran (Joseph J. Ketusky was a Korean War Veteran) we place military seals on the rear doors of the Hearse to honor the veteran for his or her service to their Country.

The Ketusky Funeral Home is the Official Somerset County Veterans & Family Memorial Care Funeral Home. There is only one Funeral Home per County and we have that Honored designation. The Ketusky Funeral Home is the first and only Funeral Home in New Jersey that gives Exclusivity to our Families. That is that we always provide our entire Funeral Home and staff to only one Family at a time. We give you our full attention. We will never have another service going on while we are serving your Family. This makes for the most respectful of choices for your Loved One. Dignity, Honor and Respect is what we provide to each and every Family and their Loved One.
